Myanmar is a land of faith with it’s over 100 ethnic groups. The people are very gentle and open-minded. It is a rural nation of traditional values and its landscape is scattered with over 4’000 gilded pagodas and thousands of Buddhist monks and novices. The country has totally delighted and surprised me, especially the warm-hearted and stoic population. An unforgettable experience was the hot-air-balloon-flight over Bagan and the trip in an open lorry (called “roller coaster” according to the locals) together with over 50 pilgrims to the Golden Rock, which is teetering impossibly on the edge of a chasm.
